Background
About the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry
Scots’ descendants have willingly shared their stories and creative skills. From Sweden to Brazil, Australia to Canada, from Italy to China - 25 nations tell tales of bravery, excellence, achievement, spirit and even tragedy. Famous Scots and the not so famous are represented on the panels
The panels are a magnificent artistic reflection of Scots and their culture: be it the Burns Suppers, ceilidhs, inventions, our tartan or our tweed.
In the words of Prestoungrange: ‘What nation has provided the world with such an anthem as Auld Lang Syne that captures so beautifully the essence of its diaspora’.
More about the tapestry can be found on their website The Scottish Diaspora Tapestry
